Behaviour Support Advisory Team (BSAT) & Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce (APST)
Supporting Schools, Young People, and Families Across Telford and Wrekin
Both the Behaviour Support Advisory Team (BSAT) and the Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce (APST) operate out of The Linden Centre, providing expert support to schools, young people, and families in managing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, and exclusions.
Behaviour Support Advisory Team (BSAT)
The BSAT offers advisory and preventative support to schools, helping staff to manage behaviour effectively and inclusively. Our team works directly with young people and their families to identify needs early, reduce the risk of suspensions, and improve overall wellbeing. We provide:
-
Guidance on behaviour strategies and whole-school approaches
-
Individualised support plans for pupils experiencing SEMH challenges
-
Advice for parents and carers on managing behaviour at home
-
Training and workshops for school staff to build confidence in behaviour management
Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce (APST)
The APST focuses on specialist intervention and alternative education solutions for young people at risk of exclusion or those who require a tailored learning pathway. The team works closely with schools and families to ensure children can remain engaged in education and thrive academically and emotionally. Services include:
-
One-to-one and small group support for pupils at risk of suspension or exclusion
-
Alternative provision placements and monitoring
-
Behaviour assessment and intervention planning
-
Collaboration with schools to develop reintegration strategies
Both teams are committed to preventative and supportive approaches, aiming to reduce the need for exclusions while promoting positive outcomes for young people. By working together with schools, families, and communities, BSAT and APST help ensure that every child receives the guidance, support, and opportunity they need to succeed.
